How do I register as an Emergency Medicine Consultant?

You need to register with HPCSA.

Mulitple forms will need to be completed.

What forms are required?

You will get a Form 19 from CMSA.

You will then need to complete a second Form 19 for your Mmed. The university must sign it.

You will complete a Form 57 that requires multiple signatures:

- Head of Department - Prof Motara

- Mmed supervisor

- Your employing hospital's CEO

- The Dean of the university

You must complete a Form 21 that requires your employment history.

Where do I hand in the forms?

The forms must be handed in at HPCSA.

There will be an amount of money to pay, they will work it out and you pay it.

You must send proof of payment, the person at HPCSA will print it and you drop the whole stack of papers in a box and, if the stars align, you will hear back from them in 10 working days.
